 SUTOR'S TON UP

Steve Sutor

YMCA wicket-keeper, Steve Sutor has good cause for celebration as he becomes only the second YM player to take more than 100 league catches.

The popular clubman reached the milestone during the end of last season to consolidate his second place in the YMCA's Top 40 League Fielders list. He has taken the majority of his 102 wickets at Second Eleven level but has snuffled numerous other victims whilst playing for the First and Third Teams during a long and distinguished cricketing career.

Milsom - takes top spot

The top spot, however, belongs to Keith Milsom who has, for three decades, been one of Golden Hill's most reliable and adaptable fielders. Milsom's imposing total of 157 catches is way out in front of the chasing pack and can, in part, be attributed to several extend spells behind the stumps throughout the 80's and 90's. However, it wouldn't be doing the agile sportsman an injustice without acknowledging the countless times he has taken brilliant catches, from positions all over the outfield, in particular
the slips.

Drew - an veteran long on/off fielder

Meanwhile, other impressive contributions include First Eleven Captain, Simon White (6th) who's 75 league catches is the highest total for a fielder who has not featured as a wicket-keeper on more than the odd occasion. Meanwhile, the former Second Eleven Captains Chris Drew (11th) and Shaun Parker (12th) continue to battle for a top ten spot as they both passed 50+ catches in 2003.

The youngest entree is highly respected all-rounder, Tom Milsom who's 23 catches earns him 32nd place. A position Milsom will be seeking to improve on in the coming years.
